Quinoa, (Keen-wah), is the ancient grain of the Inca. Traditionally grown in the altiplano region of Peru and Bolivia, it is well suited to the high altitude environment of Colorado's San Luis Valley. Blessed with a unique blend of all the essential amino acids making it the only grain which is a complete protein. It also contains high levels of calcium, phosphorus, iron and B vitamins. Our Quinoa is certified organic by the State of Colorado. Quinoa cooks in 15 minutes and can be used as a breakfast cereal, as a rice substitute, as a cold salad base such as a tabouli, or as a nutritious additive to soups and casseroles. Its nutty flavor is a wonderful addition to any meal! |
